Winter Wrap-Up & What’s Next at Tyax Adventures
Spring Days at Eldorado
This closing week at Eldorado Cabin honestly felt like one of those weeks that reminds you why spring skiing out here is so special. The conditions back there have been all time this season, and our last crew lucked out with bluebird skies, soft snow, and that unreal spring energy that hits differently this time of year. Longer days, hanging out in the sun after skiing, and everyone soaking up every last lap, it’s hard to beat.
Spring really is one of the best times to experience the cabins. The energy is high, the days feel endless, and there’s something about skiing in the Chilcotins this time of year that just sticks with you.
We’ve also loved having filmmaker Jeff and the Head Ski Team out with us this winter capturing it all. Keep your eyes peeled for the beautiful content they’ve been working on, there’s some pretty special footage coming.
The Season is Turning Back On
June 6th is staff training, which feels like the real switch flipping into summer for us.
The cabins start to come back to life, gear gets unpacked, and the staff is all back together again. We’re getting everything ready to welcome people back to Tyax Adventures for another epic season.
Sea Otter Classic
Sea Otter Classic wrapped up this month, and it was such a fun way to kick off the riding season.
The whole weekend was full of good conversations, sunny weather, and nonstop bike energy. Between all the racing, riding, and events happening across the venue, there was always something going on. We caught the dual slalom on the Saturday, which definitely brought the energy.
One of the coolest parts was connecting with so many people who were genuinely excited to see us there as a Canadian company. A lot of people stopped by the booth curious about the Chilcotins, excited about a new mountain bike destination they could actually road trip to from California, and stoked to hear more about what riding out here looks like.
It was also great hearing how many people had either visited Whistler before or already had BC riding trips on their bucket list.
We spent the weekend catching up with industry friends and partners, including the crew from RUX in the booth beside us (huge shoutout to them for helping transport some of our gear down there).
Overall, it just felt really exciting to introduce more people to this corner of BC and share what makes the Chilcotins so special.
Safe to say we’re already looking forward to next year.
Whats coming this summer
The snow is melting fast out here, the flowers are already starting to pop, and June is shaping up to be an awesome start to summer. Once the trails dry out, this whole area opens up into endless riding, hiking, alpine lakes, and big mountain views.
For a lot of our repeat guests, summer is all about coming back to tick off another loop on the checklist, whether that’s a new bikepacking route, a hiking objective, or finally seeing a part of the Chilcotins you’ve always talked about exploring.
And then there’s flightseeing, which is still one of the wildest ways to experience this place. Taking off right from Tyaughton Lake and flying over glaciers, alpine ridges, and remote valleys never really gets old.
June is already filling up quickly, and we can’t wait to get back out there for another summer season.
If you’ve been thinking about a trip, now’s a great time to start planning and secure your dates.

Trail Notes
This is a collection of the kinds of things people often ask before arriving.
What’s the most common question guests ask before arriving?
Almost always: “What do I need to pack?” It’s a great questions and we’ve got a guided packing list to make it easy. Check it out here
What do guests usually underestimate?
The fitness side of things. The terrain here is best described as cross country / all mountain, which means there’s always a climb in the mix. A good base level of fitness and endurance makes a big difference in how much people enjoy the experience.
What do people always wish they packed?
Honestly, less. If you’re staying in our catered backcountry accommodations, everything from food to lodging is taken care of once you arrive at camp. Even after big days out on the trails, there’s always plenty of food waiting, which is something people are usually pleasantly surprised by.
That’s a little look at where things are at right now, from wrapping up winter, to a look at what’s coming into summer, and a few things we get asked a lot along the way.
We’re looking forward to another big season at Tyax Adventures and can’t wait to get you back out there.
