Booking & Cancellation Policy

BOOKINGS

To book a tour/activity, book online or via email (fun@tyaxadventures.com). It is recommended that all guests have a good knowledge of backcountry procedures – including but not limited to: Safety in the backcountry, Wilderness First Aid, Avalanche Safety Knowledge, etc. Prices on the website do not include GST. 

WAIVERS

Each guest will be required to sign a Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement upon arrival for your trip, on-site. In no event will a guest be permitted to participate in a planned activity/trip without having signed a Waiver. 

INSURANCE

Tyax Adventures highly recommends that all guests purchase trip cancellation, trip interruption, and medical insurance. If we can provide direction or guidance in regards to insurance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Travel insurance can be purchased from your local travel insurance company. For residents of BC, cancellation insurance can be difficult to purchase.

PAYMENTS

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a reservation, with the full balance due 60 days before the activity/tour date. Payments can be made online, or by credit card over the phone. 60 days pre-trip, your full balance will be processed with the card saved on your file. If payment is not processed 60 days before the activity, your trip may be released. Please note that when paying online via our booking system, there is a one-time booking fee of 6% charged by our booking system. 

ITINERARY/FLIGHT CHANGES

Every attempt will be made to adhere to our scheduled itinerary, we do not plan to make changes ahead of time. However, participants acknowledge and willingly accept the possibility of unexpected changes to our route, timings and itinerary. Safety issues, weather and/or any extenuating circumstances beyond our control may contribute to this possibility. 

In the event of unfavorable weather conditions, your pilot may be required to adjust the landing location for safety reasons. If landing at your originally scheduled lake is not possible. For example, Warner Lake - an alternative nearby location such as Spruce Lake may be used instead. 

Should these changes affect your pre and/or post-tour travel plans, Tyax Adventures will not be responsible for additional expenses incurred by guests (non-refundable airline tickets, rental cars, hotel reservations, etc.). Please note no refunds will be issued for itinerary/route changes made by Tyax Adventures.

DOVETAIL

Dovetail flights occur when 1 group flies into a location, and another group flies out from that location - effectively ‘splitting the flight’. Should a dovetail flight be completed in full, where a group flies into a location and a group flies out, both groups will be reimbursed for half of the full price of the flight AFTER the completed dovetail flight. Please note that we always take full payment up front for all bookings, and in the event that the planned dovetail flight does not happen, the group would still be responsible for paying for the cost of the whole flight.

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT/MIXED GROUPS

For tours including accommodation, prices are based on double occupancy. Single rooms are available for an additional charge. A single supplement price will be provided on request. Guests travelling alone may request to be paired with another single traveler, if possible. 

Many of our fly-in tours require a minimum of 3 guests to confirm the tour. A Mixed Group tour is where we match up guests of similar skill/ability levels to reach the minimum guest requirement. Should your tour not fill up with the minimum number of guests, you will be offered to rebook to another date, or receive a full credit.

CANCELLATIONS

Deposit due at the time of booking. Full payment due 60 days from the first day of your booking. All bookings cancelled outside of 60 days from the first date of your booking will be refunded, less the deposit. Bookings cancelled within 30-60 days from the first date of your booking will be refunded 50% of the total amount. Any booking canceled within 30 days from the first date of your booking will not be refunded.
