Trigger Camp & Cabin

A true rustic and historic camp placed on the placid shores of Trigger Lake

The Camp

A true pioneers camp in spirit, Trigger Camp remains a gift to hikers, and bikers who need a comfortable place to call home after traveling over the many mountain passes that surround it. Innocently tucked along the shores of Trigger Lake, this camp is rustic, but none-the-less complete with service, warmth and all the promised comfort. Trigger Camp offers the perfect spot to rest, re-fuel and re-charge with more vigor to continue your exploration of the South Chilcotin.

Trigger camp was built in 1952 by long time valley residents Charlie Cunningham, Jim Keir, Danny Savage and Merv Lepkey. Consider if you may, Charlie milling boards on a “haywire” stationary saw and moving logs with his trusty helper Danny. This cabin took two years to build and was a favorite place for moose hunters and prospectors. Trigger Camp is a beautiful spot with a lovely meandering creek, and ample wood.

Trigger Camp is fully self-catered backcountry hut accommodation and you are required to provide your own food and supplies.
